wrote a new tune tonight

got a really good feeling that this time next year the guv'nahs are gonna be playing a whole heck of a lot more shows and getting alot more notoriety. freaking exciting to think about, but also scary to think about. we're walking into an industry more plagued with self-centeredness than any other field in the world. when you get involved with any kind of entertainment, you are branding yourself as an object of praise... look at me, look at what i can do. (sports, television, music)

anyway, i wrote a song tonight about why i'm playing music for a living. i wanna make plain the mystery of god, and tell folks about the story of jesus.

"a benediction for an astronaut's mind"

good night chicago
hope to see you soon
this whole revival
we sang just for you
don't trade the sky for the sea
you got the wind
but got to learn to breathe...
what's right in front of you

chorus:

one day we'll all take center stage
we'll raise glass, join hands, and give praise
i know the man who made it all
he took a fall for me, and he won't give up on you

wake up virginia
i love to watch you move
new york is just a day away
but tennessee is too
don't leave your dreams up in the sky
you've got an astronaut's mind
... honey, i do too

chorus:

one day we'll all take center stage
we'll raise glass, join hands, and give praise
i know the man who made it all
he took a fall for me, and he won't give up on you
